Whispers of the Wild brings together 30 photographs made during years of travel through some of the world's remaining wild places.

The exhibition moves from the forests of Uganda and India to the plains of East Africa, the wetlands of the Pantanal, the mountains of Mongolia and Patagonia, and the remote landscapes of the Arctic. Wildlife, landscapes and moments of stillness come together in a collection shaped by patience, observation and time spent in the field.

Among the works are encounters with black leopard, mountain gorilla, jaguar, tiger, polar bear, puma and other wildlife photographed in their natural environments. Some photographs record animals rarely seen. Others capture quieter moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.

For Michael Mucci and Katrin Weiss, the photographs are records of individual encounters rather than simply portraits of species. A look, a movement, changing light or a few seconds of stillness can become the entire photograph.

Whispers of the Wild reflects a world that remains extraordinary, but increasingly fragile. The exhibition asks viewers to spend time with these animals and places and consider what could be lost as wild habitats continue to disappear.

All wildlife photographs in the exhibition were made in the wild.

Opening Reception

Join Michael and Katrin for the opening reception on Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Hinman Gallery at Arts Bonita Performing Arts Center.

The reception is an opportunity to see the photographs at exhibition scale and hear some of the stories behind the images.
