How did we ever get this shot?

We frequently get questions about the authenticity of this image and whether it has been altered using Photoshop. To set the record straight, we do not edit any of our photographs, and the image you see is truly real. It was captured during our second expedition to observe gorillas in their natural habitat.
A Gentle Soul
The day unfolded much like our previous gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest as we gathered at the meeting point and were divided into smaller groups. After enjoying a brief presentation from the locals, we set off on our quest to locate the gorillas. During our last encounter, we had only a fleeting moment with the Silverback, so this time we were eager to spend more time and capture memorable photos of the majestic creature.
A Gentle Soul
After making our way through the thick underbrush and crossing a small stream twice, we finally came upon them, having inadvertently circled back alarmingly close to the nearby village. The sight was remarkable with the Silverback taking charge while the females expertly climbed trees and searched for food.
A Gentle Soul

As the entire group of gorillas drew nearer to the village, they began to feast on the lush vegetation of the garden, providing the perfect opportunity for me to capture this moment as the silverback leisurely enjoyed his meal.  Being so close to the majestic silverback and his playful troupe of gorillas was a breathtaking experience, as I watched them interact with one another, showcasing a blend of tender familial bonds and raw strength; the sight of them sharing moments of joy while savoring the vibrant greens around them made it clear that their world is one of both wonder and wisdom, painting a vivid picture of life in the wild that left an indelible mark on my heart.
